Frequently Asked Questions
-
How much does it cost to hire you?
I understand that each client’s needs and preferences are unique. That’s why I offer customized pricing based on several factors, such as meal complexity, event size, location, and special requests. By taking these factors into consideration, I can provide tailored quotes that fit each client’s unique needs and budget.
-
Do you require a deposit?
For first-time clients, I require a 50% deposit to secure the booking. This deposit helps me to cover the cost of ingredients and any other expenses associated with the event. The remaining balance can be paid on the day of the event. For larger events and weddings, I may require an event contract to be signed by both parties to ensure that everyone is clear on the terms and conditions.
-
What should I do to prepare my kitchen for the chef's arrival?
In order to provide the best possible cooking experience in my client’s kitchens, I kindly request that they assist by clearing as much kitchen counter space as possible, emptying the sink and dishwasher and making some room in the fridge prior to my arrival.
-
What kind of ingredients do you use?
I prioritize using the freshest and highest quality ingredients. I source from local farmer’s markets and specialty stores. Using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients not only provides the best flavors but also supports the local community. I prioritize using organic and sustainable ingredients when possible.
-
What’s included when hiring a personal chef?
I will work closely with you to understand your culinary preferences and dietary restrictions to develop a custom menu that aligns with your tastes. I will handle all aspects of meal preparation, including grocery shopping, cooking, and presentation. After the meal, I will clean up the kitchen, package any leftovers, and store them appropriately.
-
Are groceries included?
The pricing for dinners or events may be structured in one of two ways: an all inclusive price that includes groceries, or a chef fee with the cost of groceries billed separately. I work closely with my clients to create custom menus tailored to their preferences, and each proposal clearly explains what is included so they understand what to expect.
-
How many people do you serve?
The size of the event, the kitchen setup at the location and the type of meal being served dictate the number of guests I can serve. For intimate gatherings that require a more formal dining experience, I can cater to up to 20 guests with a plated meal that showcases the artistry and attention to detail I bring to each dish. Larger events that require a buffet-style meal can be catered to up to 50-60 guests.
-
What types of cuisines are you capable of cooking?
I have extensive knowledge and experience in preparing a wide range of cuisines from various regions of the world. From classic French and Italian dishes to more exotic and flavorful Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Moroccan, Spanish, and Middle Eastern cuisines, I am well-versed in a variety of cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and presentation styles.
-
How far in advance do I need to book your services?
Because I limit the number of events I take each season to maintain an uncompromising level of service, dates often fill up months in advance. Reach out as soon as your schedule is set to check availability.
